OSCE Ministerial Council winds up in Kyiv

OSCEThe Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which began in Kyiv yesterday, wound up today.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic, who headed the Serbian delegation to the Ministerial Council, had bilateral meetings today with the current Minister of Foreign Affairs and newly appointed President of the Swiss Confederation, Didier Burkhalter; Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Idrisov, and of Georgia, Maia Panjikidze, as well as the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Astrid Thors. Mrkic also met with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.

Underlining the fact that Serbia would take over the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office in 2015, Minister Mrkic recalled the obligations that awaited Serbia.
- At this Ministerial Council, Serbia has practically joined the so-called Chairmanship Troika and will undertake the obligations regarding the chairing of this huge Organization, stretching from Vladivostok to Vancouver, across three continents and embracing 57 countries, said Mrkic.
