Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic completed his last week's visit to New York where he participated at the United Nations General Assembly session as member of the delegation of the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic. On the fringes of the session, Mrkic represented Serbia in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings. He met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, British Foreign Secretary William Hague, Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusic, foreign ministers of Turkey - Ahmet Davutoglu, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Zlatko Lagumdzija and Albania - Ditmir Bushati, his colleague from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Bruno Rodriguez, Foreign Minister of Greece Evangelos Venizelos, representative of Prishtina Enver Hoxhaj, he also met with the new Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, his colleague from Slovenia Karl Erjavec, colleagues from Bulgaria and Georgia - Kristian Vigenin and Maja Pandzikidze. The Serbian Foreign Minister also met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland. Ivan Mrkic participated in the Ministerial meeting of the South East European Cooperation Process and met with the OSCE Troika - colleagues from Ukraine, Ireland and Switzerland. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic attended the unveiling of the monument to Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla in New York.
